Course Description

The internal revenue code provides for several tax saving strategies of which every CPA should be aware. This webinar will cover Conservation Easements, Oil & Gas Partnerships, Qualified Opportunity Zones and 1031 Real Estate Exchanges. All four are part of the Internal Revenue Tax Code and will save accredited investors federal and state income taxes.

Learning Objectives
  • Recognize the potential tax savings benefits made possible by investing in real estate designated as a conservation easement.
  • Review the Intangibly Drilling Cost write-off of Oil & Gas exploration that has been part of the IRS Tax Codes since 1913.
  • Explore opportunity zones as an alternative to capital gains.
  • Identify how 1031 real estate exchanges work.

  • Dan Higgins

    Dan Higgins works with clients and CPAs offering alternative investments, specializing in Conservation Easements.

    Dan graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1985 majoring in Business Development and Political Science. He has been with Retirement Solutions, Inc. for 10 years.
