The Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance is dedicated to enabling women in all accounting and finance fields to achieve their full potential and to contribute to their profession. 

Founded in 1943, the Grand Rapids chapter promotes the professional growth of local women through networking, education, and leadership development. 

Our chapter hosts events centered around networking and personal and professional development, which are open to all women in the field. 

The Grand Rapids chapter of the AFWA is committed to furthering the educational achievement of female students in the fields of accounting and finance. Each year, the chapter awards a scholarship to an outstanding undergraduate applicant in the Grand Rapids area. 

AFWA promotes the professional growth of women in all facets of accounting and finance. Members increase their career potential by connecting with colleagues, receiving education and mentorship to advance their careers, and developing leadership skills. For more than 75 years, members have tapped into a network of successful, motivated, and influential professionals who understand the unique position of being a woman in the industry and who, together, contribute to the future development of their profession.
